Audio-Technica introduces the semi-automatic AT-LP8X, expanding its line of direct-drive turntables with a newly designed tonearm lift that automatically raises the tonearm and stops the motor at the end of a record side.

The J-shaped aluminum tonearm, inspired by classic A-T models from the 1960s and '70s, features a new AT-LT10 headshell and AT-VM95E BK cartridge with a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus, delivering excellent channel separation and low distortion for superior tonal quality. The stylus is interchangeable with any of the five additional styli in the VM95 line, while VTA adjustment and a subcounterweight make the tonearm compatible with a wide range of cartridges.

The AT-LP8X supports 33-1/3, 45, and 78 RPM playback. Its 25 mm rubber-damped, anti-resonance die-cast aluminum platter includes a 2.5 mm rubber mat and is driven by a sensor-monitored motor for accurate platter rotation. The motor and efficient internal switching power supply are housed in a 16 mm MDF box plinth with height-adjustable feet, providing excellent protection against noise and vibration.

Accessories include a detachable RCA output cable (dual RCA male to dual RCA male with ground), 45 RPM adapter, and a removable hinged dust cover.
