Class-A amplifiers, Ali Baba specials aside, are rarely seen at this price point. That's for good reason, inherently more expensive to design and manufacture, most amplifier brands lean towards Class A/B to achieve higher outputs and avoid the amp becoming a literal heater in summer months. 

Krell has hedged on years of experience and experimentation to produce a true Class-A amplifier that runs warm, never hot, and with their proprietary sliding bias iDrive power amp stage provides a solid 200W to drive any mortal loudspeaker. 

Undeniably nu-Krell designed, the amplifier looks at home in a high-end rack, with a tastefully brushed metal chassis and impressive fascia. The included remote echoes the sentiment and could be used as a projectile to defend your hifi system should the need ever unfortunately arise. 

Vanguard is the term to describe the foremost part of an advancing army, and the Integrated Vanguard amplifier lives up to the name, it's rare to achieve this level of resolution from a sub $10k integrated. Often the compromise in the pre-amp section leads to a very obvious "voicing" or "masking" of the signal, the Krell manages to largely stay out of the way, albeit a little aggressively.
