AudioQuest Greyhound Subwoofer Interconnect

Use the AudioQuest Greyhound RCA subwoofer cable to connect amplifiers, receivers, soundbars, and AVRs to a wide range of subwoofers. Featuring solid 0.5% silver conductors that minimize distortion, Foamed-Polyethylene insulation that preserves dynamic contrasts, and a Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation system that effectively reduces high-frequency noise, this cable ensures clearer, naturally rich audio, crisp dialogue, and immersive sound effects.

Solid 0.5% Silver Conductors
Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion. These silver-plated conductors are optimal for high-frequency applications, as signals at such frequencies travel primarily on the conductor's surface. With high-purity silver on the surface, performance closely resembles a solid silver cable but at a cost closer to solid copper, making it a highly cost-effective choice for subwoofer cables.

Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation
Achieving 100% shield coverage is straightforward, but AQ’s Noise-Dissipation system prevents radio-frequency interference (RFI) from affecting the equipment’s ground reference. Unlike traditional shield systems, which often absorb and channel noise to the ground (distorting the signal), Noise-Dissipation "shields the shield," absorbing and reflecting most noise/RF energy before it reaches the ground layer.

Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation
Solid materials near a conductor create imperfections in the circuit, absorbing and releasing energy as distortion. Foamed-PE insulation, with its high air content, reduces this effect significantly. Air absorbs minimal energy, and Polyethylene has a low-loss, distortion-free profile, minimizing the out-of-focus effect typical of other materials.

Hyperlitz Coax Geometry
An arrangement of eight negative conductors encircle a single, larger positive conductor, creating a low-resistance cable with minimal skin effect, reducing signal degradation.

Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated Terminations
Cold-welded, gold-plated plugs avoid solder—a common distortion source—by using high pressure rather than heat. This method enables ground shells to be stamped from distortion-resistant metal, enhancing overall sound quality.
