Waversa WStreamer 2.0 Network Streamer

WStreamer 2.0 is equipped with WAP (Waversa Audio Processing) functionality, which is made possible by our in-house FPGA DSP design technology, and sets it apart from other companies' products. WStreamer 2.0 functions can be controlled using the WRemote app or an internet browser.

Sampling Rate Conversion
Bypass mode is the default and can transmit signals at x1, x2, x4, and up to x8, upsampling to 352.8/384kHz.

WAP/X
This is an algorithm that restores the harmonics contained in the original sound with high precision.

The instruments being played and the singer's voice contain even-order harmonics that are 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, etc., and these harmonics play a role in making the sound sound natural. This is why vacuum tube amplifiers, which accurately reproduce second-order harmonics that are twice the frequency, are so popular with audiophiles.

While the expression of fourth-order harmonics is important for the sound of instruments such as the violin, vacuum tubes have a relatively low ability to express these harmonics. In audio, the harmonics that are lost during the recording and digitization process must be restored in order to reproduce the original sound. WAP/X was developed to realize this using an algorithm.

Dynamic Range
This function adjusts the output dynamic range to compensate for variations in multiple systems and spaces. Starting from Level 3, raising the level increases resolution, widens the stage, and restores the expressiveness of softer sounds. Lowering the level changes the setting to suit those who prefer a softer, warmer sound over sharp resolution.

Sound Output
Select the output option. Internal limits USB and WNDR output and focuses only on coaxial output.

WNDR Transport Level
Select the transfer level for WNDR (Waversa Network Direct Rendering), Waversa Systems' proprietary protocol. Based on Level 4, in an environment with an optimal network environment, you can use Level 1 (Critical), or lower it to Level 5 if more flexible network support is required.

Format Support
It supports various formats, including DLNA, RAAT (Roon), and AirPlay (although not guaranteed), and is equipped with Waversa's proprietary rendering method [WNDR] and a new proprietary transmission method [WIDR (Waversa I2S Direct Render)]. When used with Waversa devices, it delivers a noise-free, high-precision signal from the Roon server to the endpoint, a high-performance proprietary standard that sets it apart from other methods.

Original DSD support
You've probably experienced the difficulty of enjoying DSD audio smoothly unless you have a player with a built-in decoder or a device capable of dual digital output. Even without such complex equipment, transmission was usually limited to DoP (DSD over PCM). WIDR is a unique standard that is completely different from PCM, and it can transmit the original DSD signal over a single coax cable without the detour to DoP.

Low Noise Flow
Unlike SPDIF, which always generates signals in all sections, WIDR transmits signals at high speed only when data is present and does not transmit signals in the remaining sections, thereby
maintaining a consistently low noise level compared to SPDIF, which inevitably has to maintain a high noise flow state.

5V DC Output
The high-performance linear output terminal derived from WLPS technology allows you to achieve a synergistic sound quality with other devices that use 5VDC. Most devices that use DC power use poorly manufactured SMPS adapters, which cause unimaginable noise and have a very negative impact on sound quality. With the DC Out terminal providing clean power, you can experience details that were previously buried in noise.

Custom Isolator
The WStreamer 2.0 is equipped with a noise isolator that is a more compact version of the previous Ext series.
This is a proprietary technology used only by Waversa worldwide, and it dramatically improves sound quality by eliminating minute noises that occur during digital signal transmission.
  • Powerful WAP processor
  • Equipped with WLPS-LP 5V DC Out
  • WIDR over Coax support
  • Built-in noise isolator
  • I/O terminal side alignment
  • AirPlay, DLNA, Roon RAAT, WNDR support
  • Equipped with a custom isolator miniaturised from the hit product EXT Isolator series
  • Fundamentally blocks the transfer of generated digital noise
