Pass Labs XS PRE 2 Preamplifier
Featuring a dual mono power supply with three double shielded transformers that offer lower radiated and mechanical noise, each channel has a dedicated transformer, the third manages the digital section. Each chassis has an electrostatic shield to further reduce external RFI. The included DC power cable now uses some very secure military grade connectors.
The new gain circuit produced specifically for the XS models offers higher bias and better stability, providing reduced noise at lower listening levels. The boards are ceramic based and gold plated. Toshiba FETS are used on the input and MOSFETS on the output.
A DC servo controlled output stage runs a higher class A bias than the original model, with auto bias and lower output impedance.
The volume control, offering 100 dB of range in .5 dB steps, is a single stage with no active gain.
The new chassis is furnished with dual organic LED type displays.
