Overview
For those running efficient speakers and looking for that smooth Japanese sound, the PM6005 could be a perfect match. Thanks to Marantz proprietary HDAM-SA3 circuits the sound is laid back and musical, an onboard toroidal power transformer provides clean power to the power output stage.
A transport can be connected via the digital inputs to take advantage of the 24bit/192kHz high current Cirrus Logic CS4398 onboard DAC, which has featured in higher end Marantz products. The DAC section is fully shielded inside a internal metal housing to help isolate the delicate low-voltage signal from internal noise.
A dedicated phonostage is included for fans of vinyl, along with 4 other line level inputs via RCA.
The amplifier also allows for 2 sets of stereo speaker pairs to be connected and easily switched between using buttons on the front panel.
Sound characteristics can be matched to your personal taste via the tone controls also placed on the front panel, and a 'loudness' buttons keeps the sound exciting even at lower volumes.
