The Drive
Building on the technologies of Gryphon’s revolutionary EOS 2, Gryphon engineers undertook an even greater challenge: creating a state-of-the-art reference loudspeaker that mirrors the ethos and design aesthetic of its smaller sibling. Despite standing just 1.3 meters tall, EOS 5 delivers full frequency range performance (20–40,000 Hz, +2 dB) and extraordinary dynamic capability. Achieving such performance within a compact, visually striking design required pioneering new technologies.

Each of the four drivers is bespoke to EOS 5: the 6.5” midrange and dual 9.5” woofers utilize TPCD™ (Thin-Ply Carbon Fiber Diaphragm) cone construction and Gryphon’s proprietary Impulse Optimizer Rings, both first introduced in EOS 2. The cones are crafted by a leading Formula 1 component fabricator, ensuring unmatched precision. A smaller 29mm beryllium dome tweeter was purpose-designed to complement EOS 5’s higher mid-treble crossover point. Careful attention to linear phase response across the frequency spectrum ensures seamless, transparent sound.

The PCS (Progressive Curved Slope) crossover, hand-assembled from premium components, maximizes power handling and ensures smooth transitions between drivers. With 90 dB sensitivity and a nominal 4 Ohm (minimum 2.9 Ohm) impedance, EOS 5 presents an amplifier-friendly load.

Design and Placement Versatility
EOS 5 inherits the jewel-like cabinet aesthetic of EOS 2, featuring a critically shaped "Stealth" enclosure that diffuses standing waves, making the speaker virtually disappear in the listening room. Internally, the new Line-Dampened Porting System optimizes airflow, enhancing performance for this wider-bandwidth design.

Placement versatility is further enhanced by adjustable spikes with removable, integrated dampers, ensuring stable positioning on any surface. Proprietary binding posts, the same used in Gryphon’s Apex Power Amplifiers, allow single- or bi-wiring configurations.

Locally handcrafted to the highest standards of Danish craftsmanship, the complex enclosure is as refined as fine furniture. The elegant stringed front grille combines aesthetic appeal, driver protection, and complete acoustical transparency.

Finish Options
EOS 5 offers a stunning selection of finishes: Soul Red Crystal, High Gloss Black, and the new "S-Mat Black," a next-generation matte black paint making its debut in loudspeaker manufacturing.
