Overview
A reinvigorated FS249 featuring updated driver surrounds, the .3 model continues to improve upon a well established ELAC design.
The Crystal Membrane (patent pending) drivers featuring ELAC’s Aluminum-Sandwich AS Technology, with the voice coil and driver surround design allowing for longer cone excursions to reduce distortions at higher SPLs - this thing can play loud!
The JET 5 tweeter includes an improved new neodymium magnet system that provides frequency responses up to 50kHz, based on a folded foil membrane. Both SCARA robots and good old fashioned skilled craftsmen come together to produce the JET 5.
Dual woofers provide a solid foundation of low end energy even at low listening levels, but the FS249.3's capabilities make it hard not to push it to jackhammer volumes. Impressively, the sound profile is consistent either way.
