Overview

A three-way floorstanding loudspeaker offering the core technologies of Bowers and Wilkins' flagship 801D3 in a relatively compact headed enclosure. 

The 25mm diamond-dome tweeter capable of high-frequency response up to 35kHz is mounted in a solid-body Turbine Head, a 130mm Continuum-cone FST midrange driver in another Turbine head handles the critical vocal and instrumental region, and two 180mm Aerofoil-cone bass drivers manage the low end. 

The separate tweeter enclosure and reverse-wrap cabinet architecture provide a rigid, mechanically controlled platform for the drive units, while the Optimised Matrix cabinet construction keeps low frequency output quick and tight.

B&W's Flowport system is incorporated into the vented enclosure, with the bass section using the Aerofoil profile to optimise the behaviour of the bass cones. An Anti-Resonance plug is also specified as part of the driver and cabinet design.
