Audio Technica VM700x Series Replacement Stylus
These replacement styli options are compatible with both VM500x and VM700x cartridges:
AT-VMN40xML - Bright red, microlinear shape, nude tip, aluminum cantilever
AT-VMN45xML - Dark red, microlinear shape, nude tip, boron cantilever
AT-VMN50xSH - Brown, Shibata shape, nude tip, boron cantilever
AT-VMN60xSL - Black, special line contact shape, nude tip, boron cantilever
** In general, as you move from top to bottom, each shape offers better groove tracking (better sound quality).
** "Bonded" means a diamond tip is glued to a metal shank, which is then attached to the cantilever. This is more affordable (less diamond) but can wear out more easily. "Nude" means a pure diamond tip is attached to the cantilever (more durable).
** Aluminium cantilever has more than twice the weight of the boron cantilever; the lighter the stylus cantilever, the quicker it can respond to changes in the groove. That means the boron variants make your music more dynamic.
