Overview

A truly outstanding preamplifier. Featuring a dedicated isolated power supply that goes one step further and provides independent supplies for each channel - allowing channel separation in a way rarely seen at any level.

Dual XLR balanced outputs (very handy for stereo subwoofers) and 3 balanced inputs make this a dream control system, capable of managing a turntable, streamer and CD player at once. An additional turntable could be added using the single RCA input also included.

While this model was originally released in year 2000, it had an extended tenure in Gryphon's line-up and was produced, unchanged, right through to 2011. It is rare to see this sort of staying-power in specialist hifi. When connected to a current series Gryphon Essence power amplifier and driving a latest model mid-tier Estelon speaker set - you would expect the Sonata Allegro to be an obvious bottleneck, that it certainly is not.
