Overview

The Gryphon Diablo 120 integrated amplifier embodies the Gryphon ethos of delivering High-End performance at an accessible price. Designed with the same dedication to musicality, sonic precision, and craftsmanship as Gryphon’s flagship offerings, the Diablo 120 redefines what an integrated amplifier can achieve. Drawing from the legacy of the original Atilla, introduced in 2009 and lauded as one of the finest integrated amplifiers of its time, the Diablo 120 benefits from years of advancements in circuit topology and component refinement inspired by Gryphon’s reference-level Pandora preamplifier and Mephisto power amplifier.

The Diablo 120 combines timeless elegance with bold, architectural lines. Its satin black brushed aluminum chassis and polished acrylic faceplate reflect the brand’s attention to detail, while its robust construction ensures long-term reliability. Built entirely in Gryphon’s Danish facility, the Diablo 120 incorporates dual-mono circuitry, ultra-short signal paths, gold-plated PCBs, and audiophile-grade components for exceptional performance.

Performance and Features
At the heart of the Diablo 120 is a custom-designed 1,300 VA transformer with separate windings for each channel, complemented by independent 60,000 µF capacitor banks. With its dual pairs of Sanken transistors, this amplifier delivers effortless power and control, capable of driving even the most demanding loudspeakers without strain. Its zero global negative feedback circuit and microprocessor-controlled 46-step passive relay attenuator ensure unmatched sonic purity and transparency at any volume level, with no more than six resistors in the signal path at any given time.

The Diablo 120 provides one balanced input and four single-ended inputs, along with extensive customization options. These include adjustable display brightness, user-defined volume settings, source labeling, and an electrically isolated AV bypass for seamless integration into multi-channel systems.

Digital and Analog Options
For added versatility, the Diablo 120 can be equipped with a Gryphon DAC PCM/DSD module, derived from the award-winning Kalliope DAC. This module supports four digital inputs, including USB, AES/EBU, TOSLink, and BNC S/PDIF, handling formats up to 32-bit/384 kHz PCM and DSD512 (Windows) or DSD128 (Mac and Linux). The module is designed to accommodate future high-resolution formats, ensuring lasting relevance.

Alternatively, vinyl enthusiasts can opt for an MM/MC phonostage module, which brings Gryphon’s legendary analog performance to those who cherish the warm, authentic sound of vinyl records.

A Musical Revelation
The Gryphon Diablo 120 delivers music with remarkable poise, dynamic energy, and exceptional refinement. Its harmonic richness, articulation, and natural detail create a lush and engaging listening experience, comfortable even during extended sessions. Designed to provide years of musical satisfaction, the Diablo 120 represents Gryphon’s commitment to excellence and offers an unparalleled combination of performance, aesthetics, and value.
