Imagine a dimly lit listening room, gentle on the eyes, asking less from your attention so you can place more of it on what you hear…
…namely, beautiful analog music.
It may seem like just a lamp, but there’s more that the UberLight Frame can do for your love of vinyl playback than you’d expect.
Yes, it makes your room more suitable for letting music take you away. Truly paying attention to the sound and relaxing everything else can recall memories, heal pain, paint day dreams onto the mind’s eye, and connect us deeper to emotional content.
Hell, there’s even a remote control, so after you queue up and find your seat, you can switch off the UberLight Frame and relax in complete darkness.
But as Reliable CEO, Robert Kahn, likes to point out:
When it comes to vinyl, to see more is to engage more.

Kahn created the UberLight Frame after realising that one of his existing task light products—the UberLight Flex—was useful to his hobby of playing records.
One of his favorite observations was that he could actually read run-off groove area (or “dead wax) inscriptions. That’s where cutting engineers put a matrix number during production, and sometimes little messages and signatures.
“There’s a whole world of things to explore where the artist or the cutting engineer will inscribe messages into the dead wax when they cut it, which is the beauty of a physical product. This light really gives me the ability to kind of get in there and see things with a bit more detail.” —Robert Kahn
Dead wax inscriptions are a staple feature of many collectible vinyl pressings.
One cool example I found: On Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” single, the band asked the cutting engineer to inscribe a message into the dead wax: "Do What Thou Wilt Shall Be The Whole Of The Law." A hat tip to the fringe philosopher Aleister Crowley, and consequently, a little Easter egg that says something lesser known about the band.
Seeing an occasional secret message is kind of cool. Makes you feel a little more connected to the artist.
But the beauty of having a light over your turntable, it’s really about utility isn’t it?

Thou shalt clean thy records and stylus. And thou shalt queue the stylus properly, too. So thou will need to see what thou is doing.
Vinyl records attract dust by virtue of static electricity, generated by taking the record in and out of the sleeve. In most lighting, we can’t actually see most of the dust that affects playback.
The UberLight Frame allows you to see everything. And that means you can clean everything, so you can look forward to hearing everything.
Sitting just above your deck, the Frame makes it easier to drop the stylus into the lead-in groove.
Then, after you set things in motion, you get to enjoy the crema. After all, espresso tastes that much better when it looks good, too.
Yes, the look of a listening room matters. Hence r/listeningspaces, an entire subreddit forum dedicated to photos of stylish listening rooms. Look at a few pics and there’s no mistake, stylish lighting is a massive part of a room’s armchair appeal.

That’s where the UberLight Frame accels. It has three colour temperature settings; set cold to brush away every speck of dust, and then balanced or warm to create the glow of your choosing.
It has six brightness settings too, able to deliver up to 600 lumens. And six touch zones; you can set it so “just the tip” glows, or any amount of the LED bar.
What else, then? Here’s a little summary…
- It’s made from durable cast aluminium.
- It can be adjusted with a 360° swivel and 30° tilt.
- There are three mounting methods: clamp to a shelf or rack top, mount directly to a surface, or place freely with a base.
- The remote control can be stored and charged directly in the UberLight Frame. It also has a torch built in—handy for checking the stylus, or just finding a drink when you’re listening in the dark.
- You can keep the mood of the room while checking your records—no need to turn on ceiling lights.
- It also (literally) puts an aesthetic frame around your turntable.

The UberLight Frame offers performance, longevity, and style.
Cleaner records reveal more of the music. They also reduce wear and tear on your stylus. And needless to say, the sexual glow the Frame gives your turntable is very stylish indeed.
