Gryphon's Exorcist is a system demagnetizer designed to counteract the negative impact of magnetization on audio signals. Gryphon contends that over time, many conductive components in the audio chain, including electronics and cables, become magnetized due to DC leakage, leading to compromised music quality. Unlike CDs claiming similar functions, the Exorcist is an active device. It features a low-distortion tone generator powered by a 9V battery, emitting a 1kHz signal that gradually fades over 35 seconds—a duration deemed optimal by Flemming Rasmussen, Gryphon Audio's head. To use, simply connect the Exorcist to unused inputs with the system on, adjust the volume, and press the Engage toggle. The tone emanates from the speakers and diminishes gradually. Repeat if desired, as there are no repercussions for multiple uses. In fact, additional treatments may yield further benefits.
Black Exorcist
The Gryphon Black Exorcist swiftly eliminates magnetic build-up in delicate audio circuits in under a minute. Residual magnetism from potent phono cartridges can compromise sound quality by magnetizing adjacent metal components.
