Overview
The Phaethon integrated amplifier stands out for its unique design, incorporating advanced technologies from our Aelius monoblock amplifier and PST100mk2 preamplifier in a compact, elegant form.
This hybrid line-level amplifier features three active gain stages, two of which use low-noise valves operating in single-ended Class A for the input and driver stages. A transformer attenuator, built in-house, is integrated into the preamplifier section using an innovative post-attenuation technique.
The tube driver stage connects to the output stage via a wide-bandwidth inter-stage transformer, ensuring perfect phase splitting. The output stage, utilizing same polarity semiconductors in a “balanced single-ended architecture,” combines the richness of single-ended designs with the power of push-pull designs.
Separate power supplies for the tube and output stages, with five power supply inductors, ensure low noise filtering and superior sound quality. All functions are remotely controlled and displayed on a high-quality LCD with large characters for easy readability from across the room.
