Barco Balder CinemaScope Projector

The cornerstone of home cinema systems designed to deliver outstanding experiences in the world's finest homes.

Balder incorporates Barco's unique PULSE electronics platform, inhouse designed laser engine and the world’s finest optical components, fusing them together with the imaging device technology chosen by 9 out of 10 professional cinemas: DLP.

Professional grade optics

By basing Balder’s CinemaScope optical engine on it’s bigger brother Loki CinemaScope's architecture, custom designed aspherical glass elements and enhanced low dispersion glass lenses, image quality is in a class of its own. To top that, Balder CinemaScope’s frame and core is built in aluminium, 37kg of pure quality. The result is the best picture quality ever shown at this level.

State of the art electronics

All new “Pulse” electronics have been designed to process 4K with HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 and the optical engine is utilising the very latest 0.9" DMD DLP chipset, delivering 5,120 x 2,160 pixels on screen.

CinemaScope

The Balder CinemaScope has a unique automatic aspect ratio detection function. It will look for cinemascope content and automatically scale the image to fit the 5,120 x 2,160 resolution and change back to 16:9 (3,840 x 2,160) if you have content in that format. It will also change aspect ratio when a cinemascope format movie has a menu outside the active picture frame. Alternatively, you can switch manually between the different formats.

Liquid cooling

Balder CinemaScope has departed from a pure fan based cooling system to a liquid cooling PID regulation system, allowing Balder to operate in any angle.
